Pet Food: What's for Dinner Tonight?
By Margaret Loris
I get emails nearly everyday from people all over the world, asking me for my healing assistance with their pet companions.
Q: What type of foods do you suggest for my companion?
A: Your companions diet has a direct relationship to its health.
Your pet’s behavior, happiness, health, longevity and overall well being are intertwined with what you feed it. The cells in your companion's body need the correct nutrients to function properly, and all the nutrients need to be in the correct proportion for the necessary natural processes to happen. Nutrients are the fuel, and the type of fuel you provide determines the health of your companion on all levels: physical, emotional and mental.
Pet food doesn't necessarily mean 'canned food'. It may take a little effort but homemade pet food is very easy to prepare when you are using top quality recipes and getting the satisfaction of feeding your companion healthy A-grade food.
Fritzl loves to eat special foods I prepare for him. He does a Whirling Dervish dance next to the sink as I prepare for him. Sometimes I give him a fresh slice of organic beef liver. Another meal he loves is free range ground beef mixed with garlic, organic carrots and basmati rice. I pour in a capful of Usana’s Omega 3 oils. You can also make your companion’s favorite dish. Try some lamb and brown rice stew. Make your own pet biscuits.
And take some time and feed your loved one right out of your hand. They will love it!
An animal naturally defends itself by producing antibodies when digesting an inappropriate diet. This can lead to metabolic imbalances and illnesses.
I buy high quality heath pet foods for Fritzl. Some of the better brands are: Wellness, Innova, Solid Gold, and Nutro. I know that there are many others, especially if you go on the web and do a search. Flintriver looks like a great brand and there are also excellent raw food diets for your pets.
The cure is simple: The purer the food, the less the chemical assault. This means that the digestion is better, there is greater nutrient absorption and the animal is healthier. A healthy animal is more disease resistant and can expect to live longer and happier.
